Former Liverpool centre-back Martin Skrtel was recently been linked with a move back to the Premier League.
The Turkish outlet Fotomac claimed that Fenerbahce offered out Skrtel to Newcastle United in an attempt to clear their wage bill.
Per the source, Skrtel currently earns approximately £67,000-a-week which would make him a costly acquisition for the Magpies.
Skrtel is no stranger to Newcastle United boss Rafa Benitez. The pair worked together during their time at Liverpool.

Scottish Premier League giants Rangers have also been linked with a move for Skrtel in recent weeks. The Sun reported that Rangers have ‘almost agreed’ a £2.7 million deal for the Slovakia international.
Martin Skrtel made 320 appearances for Liverpool during an eight-year spell at the Merseyside based club.
