Manchester City were held to a goalless draw against Liverpool at Anfield in the Premier League on Sunday to remain top of the table.

City had to make do without Ilkay Gundogan who missed the game with a hamstring injury.

The midfielder of Turkish origin gave an injury update on his official Twitter account revealing that he expects to be back soon.

Man City fans were supportive in their responses to Gundogan’s injury update wishing a speedy recovery.

There were a few fans who wished the midfielder was fit and available to take a penalty, feeling he would have done better than Riad Mahrez who blazed the spot-kick over the bar.

Gundogan will have the chance to recover in time for City’s next game against X over the international break.

The 27-year-old has not been included in the Germany national team squad call up as a result of his injury.
