“We need him” – Giroud reacts to reports linking Astar playmaker with Arsenal exit
Arsenal star striker Olivier Giroud has reacted to reports linking star playmaker Mesut Ozil with a move away from the Emirates.
The 29-year-old could be on his way out of Arsenal in the near future after failing to pen a new deal with the Gunners.
In fact, Ozil could even leave Arsenal for free next summer unless a new deal is agreed or if he is sold in January.
However, Giroud has insisted that Arsenal need to keep hold of their star playmaker. The France international went onto state that he and his teammates have never doubted Ozil’s quality.

“You cannot be at the top level all the time,” Giroud told TalkSport.
“Sometimes people expect the best from you every single game because you are a top player.
“I can understand that. But we never had any doubts about his quality, that is for sure. He is a top player and we need him.
“He makes the best choice most of the time. He knows when he has to pass the ball or to shoot and when you are in a good position you always think he thinks assist before scoring, even if he scored tonight.
“I am very happy for him. He is our playmaker and is a key player.”
Ozil was in sensational form on Wednesday night during Arsenal’s 5-0 victory over Huddersfield in the Premier League. The Germany international provided two assists and scored for his side on the night.
Arsenal fans will be hoping Ozil can maintain his form when they take on Manchester United this weekend.
