“We want him to be upset” – Gianfranco Zola sheds light on Chelsea ace who is closely lined with Galatasaray move

Chelsea assistant manager Gianfranco Zola has had his say regarding reports linking Gary Cahill with a move away from the London based club.

The former England international has been closely linked with a move to January Galatasaray in recent weeks.

The Turkish Super Lig champions are eager to sign a defender after failing to land a replacement for Jason Denayer who left during the Summer.

Cahill, whose contract with Chelsea expires at the end of the season, has played just 21 minutes of Premier League football this term.

However, Zola has stated that Cahill continues to behave like a total professional and that he understands why the defender may be upset.

“It is totally understandable Gary is upset and we want him to be upset. It means he cares,” former Chelsea striker Zola told the BBC.

“He has been a top professional; he is doing everything correctly.”
