Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger revealed that he thought Mesut Ozil was Germany’s best player over the course of the European Championships.
Ozil being Wenger’s favourite won’t come as much of a surprise considering he is of course an Arsenal player.
Arsenal fans waiting for Wenger to make additional transfers may be more interested to know that he also admitted he was very impressed with Joshua Kimmich.
Speaking to Sabah journalist Ömer Ürdünel Wenger said: “Mesut Özil was Germany’s best player but Joshua Kimmich impressed me the most he was fantastic.”
Kimmich is currently a Bayern Munich player and does have another five-years remaining on his current contract.
Ozil was named in the Opta team of the tournament for Euro 2016 – the only other Germany international player to make it Toni Kroos.

Ozil scored one goal and provided one assist over the course of the tournament. The Germany international of Turkish origin played a key role in his national team reaching the semi-final where they lost against hosts France.
