West Brom Rival Newcastle For €20m Transfer Target With ‘Surprise Email’, Forward Was Involved In 21 Goals This Season

West Brom have entered the race for Galatasaray forward Garry Rodriguez according to reports in Turkey.

The Sabah newspaper report that the Lions received a ‘surprise email’ from the Baggies for the Cape Verde ace.

Per the source, West Brom sporting director Giuliano Terraneo sent the message to the club.

Terraneo is a familiar name to Galatasaray from his time at rival club Fenerbahce.

The Italian requested the Lions give him the green light for talks with the 28-year-old.

Galatasaray are demanding €20 million for their star man this summer.

The Lions are not prepared to reduce their asking price as 20 percent of any future deal will go to his previous club PAOK.

West Brom face competition from Newcastle who have a long-standing interest in the winger.

The Magpies had a £7 million bid for the Cape Verde international rejected back in January but rekindled interest following the end of the season.

Turkish newspaper Milliyet claim Newcastle are preparing an offer for the in-form winger.

Rodrigues played an important role in Galatasaray being crowned Super Lig champions this season.
