West Brom transfer news: Baggies strike £10.6m deal with Euro giants for Brazilian international

West Brom have taken a step towards signing Fenerbahce midfielder Josef de Souza.

The Brazilian midfielder has been closely linked with a move to the Baggies over the past week.

Fenerbahce previously rejected an offer from Tony Pulis’ side for their star man.

However, West Brom’s persistence has paid off. The Premier League side have struck a deal with Fenerbahce for De Souza.

A source close to Fenerbahce has confirmed to Turkish-Football that a £10.6 million offer from West Brom for the Brazilian midfielder has been accepted.

The 28-year-old midfielder does not hold an EU passport therefore will need to secure a work permit before playing in the Premier League.

De Souza joined Fenerbahce from Sao Paulo for €8 million in July 2015. The star midfielder has three caps for the Brazil national team.

West Brom were held to a 1-1 draw by Stoke City in the Premier League on Sunday. The Baggies take on the newly promoted Brighton this weekend.
