Slaven Bilic guided West Ham to a shock 2-0 victory over Arsenal on his Premier League managerial derby.
Bilic is no stranger to the Premier League having enjoyed stints at West Ham and Everton as a player but this was his first game coaching a side in the league.
Jack Wilshere, Flamini and Rosicky, striker Danny Welbeck and Alexis Sanchez all missed the game for Arsenal but West Ham were also without first-team strikers including Andy Carroll.
Bilic developed a reputation as a manager capable of taking on Premier League giants last season during his time in charge of Besiktas.
In fact Besiktas pushed Arsenal to the wire in the Champions League play-off stage last season losing out 1-0 on aggregate.
The Black Eagles also beat Tottenham at the Ataturk Olympic stadium and knocked Liverpool out of the Europa League Round of 32.
Bilic achieved cult status among the Besiktas faithful despite failing to win silverware during his time in Turkey.
