West Ham lost the London derby against Chelsea 2-1 at Stamford bridge in their first Premier League game of the season.
Gokhan Tore made his debut for the Hammers after joining on a one-year loan from Besiktas over the summer.
We took a look at how fans reacted to Tore’s display on social media.
Tore was of course a Chelsea youngster having joined the club aged 17 and coincidently marked his return to the Premier League after a five-year gap against his former side.

Tore came on for Andre Ayew on 34 minutes after the Ghana international. The 24-year-old had himself only just recovered from an injury and looked a little rusty.

Tore did not exactly get a glowing review form the West Ham faithful.

His work ethic came under fire.

Tore lacked match fitness which is no surprise considering he has played just a few minutes of pre-season football over the summer.

Ouch!

He even has a new nickname!

Well that is pretty harsh.

Maybe a slight exaggeration.

Pretty harsh! sure he did not put on a man of the match display but he did not exactly have a stinker. We can think of a few other West Ham players far more deserving of criticism.

Well at least there were a few fans who saw something in Tore.
