West Ham manager Slaven Bilic wants to sign Germany international striker Mario Gomez after Euro 2016 according to CNN Turk.
The report states that the Hammers have been keeping tabs on Gomez and that the East London based outfit are considering making a move for the experienced striker.
Gomez is currently on loan at Besiktas but West Ham could sign him off his parent club Fiorentina – although the Black Eagles would receive 40 percent of the transfer fee.
Besiktas are in talks to make Gomez’s stay permanent after a brilliant breakthrough season scoring 28 times – a record for a foreign player in the Super Lig.
Gomez made his return to the Germany national team following his impressive season at Besiktas and he did start in the Euro 2016 Last 16 game against Slovakia scoring his second goal of the tournament in the process.
The experienced striker is reported to be happy at Besiktas and played a key role in the Black Eagles winning the league title.
Gomez will be guaranteed Champions League football next season if he stays in Istanbul.
