West Ham receive transfer boost as talks between Mandzukic and Besiktas stall over €7m deal

West Ham United have received a boost in their pursuit of Mario Mandzukic.

A source close to Besiktas has told Turkish-Football that the Istanbul giants are unable to match Mandzukic’s contract demands.

Per the source, the 30-year-old wants a deal in the region of €7 million per season.

The Black Eagles will however attempt to negotiate a lower yearly deal with Mandzukic.

Besiktas looked to have surged ahead in the race to sign the Croatia international by holding early talks. However, they have hit an early stumbling block which they may not be able to resolve.

West Ham United are also interested in signing Mandzukic according to The Sun.

Per the source, the Hammers are monitoring the experienced striker. The Sun goes onto state that West Ham are ‘desperately‘ seeking a regular goal scorer this summer.

Mandzukic has scored seven goals and provided five assists in 37 apperances for Juventus this season.
