West Ham boss lavishes praise on Nigeria international striker

West Ham manger Slaven Bilic has lavished praise on on-loan Fenerbahce striker Emmanuel Emenike in a recent interview with Turkish sports newspaper Fanatik.

Bilic praised the Nigerian international for his performance against Chelsea and underlined that he has been impressed with Emenike in general since he joined the club on a temporary move in January.

“They said getting Emenike was a risk but any transfer has an element of risk,” Bilic said.

“Emenike is a very good player he has explosive power is a professional and very hard working. 

“Just look at his performance against Chelsea he gave Azpilicueta a lot of problems.”

Bilic also stated that he was fond of Emenike last season at Fenerbahce while he was in charge of Istanbul rivals Besiktas.

“I was an admirer of Emenike during his time at Fenerbahce he always caused us [Besiktas] problems,” he added.

Emenike spent the first half of the season on loan at Al Ain scoring seven goal in 11 appearances.

The Nigerian international did however, struggle at Fenerbahce last season scoring just five Super League under the command of ex manager Ismail Kartal.

The powerful striker has two goals in all competitions for the Hammers this season. The east London based club have a buyout clause option to sign Emenike at the end of the season.
