West Ham United target Gokhan Gonul is available on a free transfer this summer after failing to agree a contract extension with Fenerbahce.
According to the daily newspaper Sabah, the Hammers are interested in signing the 31-year-old.
Gonul’s ten year spell at Fenerbahce appears to be coming to an end with his deal coming to an end this summer.
West Ham are on the lookout for a new right-back as Sam Byram is inexperienced at this level while Carl Jenkinson’s loan spell at West Ham comes to an end in July.
The Hammers manager Slaven Bilic will be fully aware of Gonul’s ability following his two year spell in Turkey with Besiktas. Gonul has 55 caps for the Turkish national team and has been a regular at Fenerbahce since joining the club in 2007.
The 31-year-old right-back has provided four assists and one goal in 23 appearances for Fenerbahce this season.
