West Ham United are set to table a fresh offer for Besiktas’ in-demand star defender Domagoj Vida.
According to the daily Turkish newspaper Fanatik, the race to sign Vida has intensified over the past week.
Per the source, AS Monaco have tabled a £26.7 million offer for Vida which has prompted West Ham to up their bid.
The report states that West Ham had offered a £20 million bid for the World Cup star, however, Besiktas are demanding at least £25 million for Vida.
Vida has also been linked with a move to both Everton and Liverpool over the past month.
Turkish-Football recently reported that Liverpool tabled a £19.5 million bid for Vida.
Meanwhile, the Turkish football agent Ugur Avadan, who has close ties to Besiktas, has confirmed that Liverpool tabled an offer for Vida.
“Liverpool and Everton are huge clubs that have made offers,” Avadan told Radyospor.
Besiktas are open to selling Vida this summer for the right price. Turkish-Football.com recently quoted Besiktas press officer Metin Albayrak as admitting to offers being made for the defender.
“We have received offers for Vida and we are considering them but that does not mean he will definitely leave,” Albayrak stated.
“Every player has a price, we will make a final decision in accordance with our budget and interests.”
The powerful centre-back joined Besiktas on a free transfer back in January after his contract with Dinamo Kiev expired.
Vida played a starring role in the 2018 World Cup and helped lead his side to the final where they were defeated by France.
The 29-year-old made 13 Turkish Super Lig appearances for Besiktas last season. Vida has four-years remaining on his contract with the Istanbul giants and has made 65 appearances for the Croatia national team.
