West Ham transfer news: Hammers reignite interest in Turkey international striker
West Ham transfer news: West Ham United have reignited their interest in the Turkey international striker Burak Yilmaz.
A source close to the player has revealed to Turkish-Football that Yilmaz is nearing a move away from China this summer and that West Ham are one of the clubs interested.
Per the source, Yilmaz’s former side Trabzonspor are also keen to sign the prolific striker.
According to SkySports, West Ham were also interested in Yilmaz at the beginning of the season however, he opted to join Bejing Guoan.
The 31-year-old’s position at Bejing Guoan has come under threat following the arrival of Jonathan Soriano from Red Bull Salzburg.
Yilmaz scored nine goals in 15 apperances for Bejing Guoan in the Chinese Super League last season.
The experinced striker netted 81 goals in 140 appearances for Galatasaray.
Yilmaz is no stranger to West Ham boss Slaven Bilic. The Turkey international was one of the Turkish Leagues top strikers during Bilic’s two year spell at Besiktas.
