West Ham transfer news: Lions to use Tudor trump card in £18m Mandzukic race

Galatasaray are hoping to use their newly appointed manager Igor Tudor as a trump card in the race to sign Croatia international Mario Mandzukic from Juventus.

A source close to the club has told Turkish-Football that Galatasaray want to bolster their strike force with a big-name signing this summer.

Per the source, the Lions want to sign Mandzukic and hope their manager Igor Tudor (who is a former Croatia international) will be able to play a major role in negotiations.

According to the Sun, West Ham United have also been closely pursuing the Croatian international recently. The report states that the striker has been valued at £18 million by Juventus.

However, Mandzukic will have just 12 months remaining on his contract during the upcomming transfer window meaning Juve may be willing to let him leave on the cheap.

Mandzukic has scored just five goals in the Serie A this season and has fallen down the pecking order at Juventus. The 30-year-old striker has previously played for Bayern Munich, Atletico Madrid and Wolfsburg.

  1. Super Mario has been fantastic on the left for Juve since christmas. Cant see him wanting to step down to a lesser club unless Juve want rid of him.

  2. You obviously have NO idea. You make it sound as if Mandzukic is somehow surplus to needs. M is a key part of how Juve set up – and their success. With his incredible workrate and ability to work defensively he’s allowed both Dybala and Higuain to play freely. There is no chance Juve would sell him atm.
    Keep dreaming.
