Wolves have been closely linked with a move for Besiktas defender Domagoj Vida according to reports in the Turkish media.
Sources close to Besiktas have revealed to Turkish-Football that Wolves have expressed an interest.
Preliminary talks took place through associates of Jorge Mendes who has close ties to both clubs.
Besiktas are keen to sell Vida to the Premier League before transfer season deadline on Thursday.
The club have received several verbal offers but formal bids have been made for the first time this summer.
The sources would not reveal which clubs have made an offer but confirmed the club’s priority is to sell to England.
Wolves and Besiktas do have close ties to Jorge Mendes, the Portuguese super agents associates have been heavily involved in the Black Eagles transfer policy for years.
The Sun reported today that Arsenal are preparing a £25m move for the World Cup finalist.
Interestingly enough, the Turkish media have linked Vida with several Premier League sides but not Arsenal.
According to the report the Gunners would however, have to sell Shkodran Mustafi or Danny Welbeck which complicates matters.
The North London based side have to sell if they want to buy Vida and have just a few days remaining to conduct business.
The 29-year-old scored in the quarter-final against Russia and provided an assist against France in the final.
The Besiktas ace was named in the The Guardian Team of the Tournament.
The Black Eagles signed Vida on a free transfer from Dynamo Kiev in January and he still has another four-years remaining on his contract.
