Women’s Turkey national team and Besiktas women’s captain Didem Karagenc revealed in her latest interview with S35TV.
Karagenc spoke to Emre Sarigul, Eren Sarigul and Can Yazici in an exclusive interview held in London.
Karagenc explained the difficulties of being a female footballer in Turkey, her fight for recognition of the women’s game and how things are slowly changing for the better following the recent women’s World Cup in France last summer.
The 25-year-old has played a key role in Besiktas lifting the league title last season and she represented the club in the Champions League this term.
Besiktas are the only side from the big four which also includes Galatasaray, Fenerbahce and Trabzonspor with a women’s side in Turkey.

The Besiktas women’s football team was founded five years ago joining the Turkish Women’s Football Third League.
The Black Eagles were promoted to the second league in their first season after winning the league title and were also crowned champions the following term in the first league.
After promotion to the Super Lig they finished runners-up twice before winning the league title last season.
