Yusuf Şimşek resigns as Karşıyaka manager

Yusuf Şimşek handed in his resignation as Karşıyaka Spor Kulübü manager this morning. The Izmir based club have accepted Yusuf’s resignation and will begin the search for a new manager.

Yusuf departed from the club after recorded just one win in their last five games. Last weekend’s 1-0 defeat away to Şanlıurfaspor was Yusuf’s final game in charge.

The 39-year-old manager made a statement to reporters following his departure.

“I would like to thank the players, management, fans, the press and everybody else at the club,” Yusuf was quoted as saying by LigTv.

Yusuf has previously managed Turgutluspor and Denizlispor. The young manager won 17, lost 13 and drew 9 of the 39 league games he was in charge of.

Karşıyaka currently sit in 8th place with 30 points in 21 games. The Izmir based side have won four of their last six games at the İzmir Alsancak Stadium.

Kaf Kaf take on bottom of the table Orduspor this weekend.
