Arda Turan returns to training ahead of Atletico Madrid’s trip to Cordoba
Arda Turan has returned to first team training after returning from international duty with the Turkish national team.
The 28-year-old winger missed Turkey’s Euro 2016 qualification clash against the Netherlands due to a suspension. Turkey came agonisingly close to a memorable win at the Amsterdam Arena but were denied by a late strike from Galatasaray’s Wesley Sneijder.
Turan played in Turkey’s 2-1 victory over Luxembourg in the Turkish Cup.
Atletico Madrid will play against Cordoba, Real Sociedad and Malaga in a week. The La Liga champions will have no time to rest as the prepare for the first leg of their Champions League quarterfinal against Real Madrid at the Vicente Calderon on 14 April.
Diego Simeone is expected to rest Arda Turan this weekend. Atletico Madrid sit in 4th place with 59 points in 28 games.
