Turkish intentional winger Arda Turan joined the Champions League title holders last month on a five-year deal but the club are unable to register Turan until the turn of the year.
Barcelona are currently serving a FIFA transfer ban and despite being able to sign new players they cannot play new signings until January.
Turan decided to watch his new sides opening game of the season at home.
The bearded winger uploaded a picture on Instagram giving Barcelona the thumbs up standing in-front of a television screen with the game being played in the background.
Turan was expected to leave on loan but is now likely to stay at Barcelona and adapt to his new teams teams style of football.
