Arda Turan has wished his former teammate Filipe Luis a happy birthday via his Instagram account.
Luis and Turan became close friends during their playing time together at Atletico Madrid and the Brazilian international has been on holiday with the bearded winger in Turkey on a number of occasions.
Turan uploaded a picture of himself alongside Luis and his baby and added the following caption: “Where ever you are, wherever you play I am always with you, happy birthday brother”
Turan was closely linked with a move to Chelsea over the summer which would have reunited him with former Atleti teammates Luis, Diego Costa and Courtois but he joined Barcelona on a £24 million transfer instead.
The Luis-Turan reunion would however, have been short lived as the Brazilian international returned to Atleti over the transfer window.
Luis and Turan will play for rival sides next season. The Turkish intentional winger signed a five-year deal with La Liga champions Barcelona.
Turan will not however, be able to play until January due to the FIFA transfer ban imposed on the club.
