Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger says Ozil has added steel to his game

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has said that Mesut Özil has adapted his game to the Premier League.

The experienced manager went onto say that the added steel will improve Ozil’s performances in the Premier League.

“In the second part of last season he started to really adapt and of course this is the test, it’s a very important season for him,” Wenger was quoted as saying by the Mirror.

“We saw the intelligence of his passing and the fact that he added some steel to his game which was needed, certainly in the Premier League.”

The 26-year-old came under fire from pundits and journalists following a slow start to his Arsenal career.

Özil provided nine assists and five goals in 32 appearances for Arsenal in all competitions last season. The world cup winner has been in good form since the turn of the year winning two Vitality Arsenal Player of the Month and a PFA Fans Player of the Month award.

The 26-year-old has hit the ground running during pre-season, Özil provided two assists and scored during Arsenal’s 6-0 victory over Lyon.
