Arsenal to face competition from China for £21m Barcelona target, says Turkish Airlines director

Barcelona star Arda Turan has received offers from China according to Turkish Airlines official Ilker Ayci.

Turkish Airlines will consider sponsoring a Chinese league side if Turan were to move to the Far East.

Ayci who sits on the board of directors at Turkish Airlines underlined that they are looking to expand to the Chinese market.

“There are offers from China for Arda Turan and we would sponsor a club out there if that were to happen,” Ayci was quoted as saying by Turkish-Football.

“We are looking to expand to China and develop our profile in the far-east.”

Turan has however, rejected all previous offers from the Chinese Super League.

Premier League giants Arsenal have been closely linked with the Turkish international over the past few months.

The Gunners are reported to have held talks with his agent and Barcelona are prepared to sell him for £21 million according to Mundo Deportivo.

Turan does have another three-years remaining on his contract but faces an uncertain future.

Current head coach Luis Enrique played a major role in signing the 30-year-old from Atletico Madrid in 2015.

Enrique will leave at the end of the season but his successor has not been named.

Turan’s future at the club would rest on the decision of Barca’s next manager.
