Arsenal have ‘capitulated’ and will lose to Man City says Paul Merson

Former Arsenal star Paul Merson has revealed his prediction for this weekend’s FA Cup clash between the Gunners and Man City.

The semi-final clash takes place at Wembley on Sunday, kick-off as at 15:00 (GMT).

Merson has tipped Man City to come out on top and book their place in the final.

The former England international believes Arsenal have ‘capitulated‘ in recent weeks. Merson went onto say that Arsenal were fortunate to draw (2-2) when the two teams came face to face at the Emirates.

“I have to go for Manchester City here,” Merson told SkySports.

“It was a stroll in the park for them at times at the Emirates and they took their eye off the ball to end up with a 2-2 draw.

“I just don’t see Arsenal producing a big performance at the moment, the way they have capitulated in recent weeks has been really poor.”

Arsenal come into the game off the back of a 2-1 victory over Middlesborough.

Star playmaker Mesut Ozil is available for selection this weekend. The 28-year-old has won two FA Cup trophies since joining the Gunners from Real Madrid back in 2013.

The Germany international played a key role in his side’s victory by scoring the game winning goal in the second half.

City meanwhile defeated Southampton by a 3-0 scoreline in their previous fixture.
