Arsenal make huge breakthrough in talks with contract rebel, £225k offer on table
Arsenal are on the verge of securing a bumper new deal for their star playmaker Mesut Ozil.
The 28-year-old has under 12-months remaining on his current contract with the north London-based club.
According to the Sun, Arsenal have made a breakthrough during negotiations with Ozil and are close to striking a new deal.
Per the source, Ozil is prepared to accept a £225,000 per-week offer. The report goes onto state that the Germany international’s representatives have been talking to other clubs in Europe. However, the Gunners have tabled the most lucrative deal for the former Real Madrid star.

Ozil was present for Arsenal during their pre-season tour of China and for the Emirates Cup. Alexis Sanchez meanwhile hasn’t featured for the Gunners since last season’s FA Cup win. The Chile international also has under 12-months left on his deal.
Arsenal take on Leicester City tonight for their first game of the 2017-18 Premier League season.
