Arsenal playmaker Mesut Ozil recorded his first assist of the season during Germany’s victory over the Czech Republic on Saturday.
The former Real Madrid man was included in Joachim Low’s starting lineup for Germany’s 3-0 win which left them top of Group C with six points in two games.
Ozil recorded his first assist in the 13th minute when he set up Thomas Muller’s opening goal.
Ozil had been unable to register an assist for club or country up until Saturday. The stat may come as a shock to Arsenal fans seeing that Ozil racked up a total of 19 assists last season for the Gunners.
In-fact, Ozil was just one assist of equalling the Premier League assist record of 20 set by the Arsenal legend Thierry Henry.
Gunners fans will be hoping the 27-year-old can now provide an assist for the Gunners when they take on Swansea City next weekend.
The Swans recently appointed the former USA international boss Bob Bradley as their manager.
