Arsenal’s star playmaker named Germany’s best player at Euro 2016

Arsenals star midfielder Mesut Ozil has been officially selected as Germany’s ‘player of the tournament’ for this summer’s Euro 2016.

The former Real Madrid man was one of the stars of the show for Joachim Low’s side but was unable to lead his team to the final.

Ozil was voted as Germany’s ‘player of the tournament’ on the German FA’s official website. The 27-year-old eat fellow star performers Toni Kroos and Jerome Boateng to clinch pole position.

 

Ozil scored one goal and provided one assist during Germany’s run to the semi finals. The Arsenal playmaker also boasted a pass accuracy of 91% and created 48 chances for his team-mates throughout the tournament.

Germany were eliminated by the hosts France in the semi finals. Ozil playmaker was included in Opta’s team of the tournament for Euro 2016.

The Germany international finished last season as the leading assist provider in the Premier League (19) and was name Arsenal player of the season.
