Barcelona prepared to sell Turan sale to fund Lionel Messi €35m deal
Barcelona are considering selling Turkey international Arda Turan in order to fund Leonel Messi’s new contract.
The Spanish newspaper AS has stated that the reigning La Liga champions need to raise money in order to match Messi’s €35m per-season demands.
Barcelona have already extended the contracts of Neymar, Luis Suarez, Sergio Busquets, Javier Mascherano and Ivan Rakitic this season. Barca have been in negotiations with Messi whose current deal expires in under 18-months.
AS go onto state that the Spanish giants are prepared to offload squad players such as Turan to make the deal possible.
The Turkey international has failed to establish himself as an important member of Barcelona’s team following his transfer from Atletico Madrid.
The Spanish outlet Sport recently linked Turan with a move to the Chinese club Guangzhou Evergrande.
Arda Turan has netted 13 goals and provided 7 assists in 29 appearances for Barcelona so far this season.
