Barcelona look set to beat Manchester United in the race to sign Ilkay Gündoğan from Borussia Dortmund according to Turkish football journalist and agent Ali Eren.
Ali Eren told Turkish-football.com that Barcelona have agreed terms with Gündoğan and are close to agreeing a transfer fee with Dortmund. Eren went onto state that only minor details need to be settled before the transfer is official announced.
Gündoğan traveled to Barcelona on Monday according to a report in the German newspaper Bild.
Barcelona based newspaper Mundo Deportivo claimed that the 24-year-old passed a medical for the La Liga giants.
Arsenal have also been closely linked with Gündoğan over the past month but United are reported to be closest to signing the Dortmund star.
Goal recently stated that the Red Devils have agreed personal terms with the Germany international.
Gündoğan has five assists and three goals in 32 appearances for Dortmund despite spending much of the season out injured and is almost certain to leave the Bundesliga outfit over the summer.
