Barcelona tell star trio they can leave, £34m Arsenal target among the three
La Liga giants Barcelona have told Arsenal target Arda Turan that he can leave the club during the upcoming January transfer window.
The 30-year-old has fallen down the pecking order at Barcelona and has been omitted from the squad by manager Ernesto Valverde.
Turan is yet to feature for the Catalan giants so far this season.
The former Galatasaray star – along with Aleix Vidal and Thomas Vermaelen – have been told that they are surplus to requirements according to Sport.
Per the source, Valverde reportedly wants to make changes to his squad in the new year.
Meanwhile, a source close to Turan revealed to Turkish-Football that the flamboyant midfielder is happy at Barcelona and that he would only consider a move to the Premier League.
Arsenal made a bid for Turan over the summer transfer window. Turkey national team boss Mircea Lucescu confirmed that the Gunners offer.
“I spoke to Valverde, Arsenal made Arda an offer,” Lucescu stated.
“Arda was on the verge of joining Arsenal this summer but it did not go through.”
Arsenal recorded a 2-1 victory over Swansea City on Saturday. The north London-based club take on Red Star Belgrade in the Europa League on Thursday night.
Turan made the move to Barcelona from Atletico Madrid for £34 million two years ago.
