Chelsea star reveals which ex Galatasaray player is his hero

Chelsea star Cesar Azpilicueta has revealed that former Galatasaray player Didier Drogba is among his footballing heroes according to the Daily Star.

The Spain international revealed that both Drogba and Frank Lampard are among his idols.

Both players are cult figures among Chelsea fans and achieved legendary status at the club after years of service to the Blues.

Drogba is the fourth highest goalscorer in the history of Chelsea football club.

The powerful striker four Premier League titles and guided the Blues to their first ever Champions League trophy.

The 38-year-old striker also became a fan favourite among Galatasaray fans during his time in Istanbul.

Drogba spent time playing for Galatasaray where he won the Turkish league and Turkish Cup trophies.

Azpilicueta joined the London based outfit in 2012 and played with both players before they left the club.

When asked about his Premier League idols Azpilicueta responded: “Very much [Frank] Lampard and [Didier] Drogba.

“I like the way they played and even more so when I came here and I had the chance to have them in the dressing room.”

Chelsea are currently first in the Premier League table, eight points above Manchester City.
