'Crying' Man Utd fan sends Fenerbahce thank-you letter for reuniting him with Van Persie

Manchester United’s ‘crying fan’ Louis Diamond was given the opportunity to be reunited with his hero Robin van Persie when Fenerbahçe invited him and his family to watch the opening game of the season at the Şükrü Saracoğlu stadium against Eskişehirspor.

Louis and his family are now back in the England and the four-year old sent a letter the club a thank you letter for giving him the chance to meet his hero.

The letter read: “Dear Aziz Yıldırım my family and I want to thank you for inviting us and giving me the opportunity to meet my hero. We all had a great time and will never forget the Fenerbahçe fans. I want to thank you millions of times for making my dream come true.”

Van Persie revealed that he personally watched the video of Louis crying and that he had to meet him afterwards.

“I watched it a couple of times, it was very touching, it came from the heart, you could see he was really really sad,” Van Persie told LigTV.

“I will explain that leaving a club and coming to a club is part of football.

“I am very happy that they are here now, so that I can meet Louis and his family.”

Fenerbahçe fans started an online campaign to raise $2000 so that the Diamond family can travel to Istanbul and watch Robin Van Persie play for his new club back in July.

The club responded to the campaign by inviting the family to Istanbul for the Eskişehirspor game which Fenerbahçe won 2-0 and afterwards young Louis met Van Persie before the family jetted off to Antalya for a five-day holiday paid on behalf of the club.

Van Persie joined United in 2012 and won the league title on his debut season in what was the Premier League giants record 20th championship.
