Didier Drogba drafted in to help convince Man City striker to leave

Former Chelsea striker Didier Drogba has been drafted in by Galatasaray to help sign Wilfried Bony.

According to the Turkish outlet AMK, Drogba will hold talks with his former Ivory Coast teammate Bony on behalf of Galatasaray.

Drogba became an icon at the Istanbul giants during his 18-month spell at the club. Per the source, Drogba will attempt to convince Bony to leave Man City and join Galatasaray.

Turkish-Football recently revealed that Galatasaray officials will travel to England to hold advanced talks with City.

Bony’s career has stalled since he joined City from Swansea City for a lofty £28 million back in January 2015 (BBC). Bony has two years left on his current contract with the Citizens.

The 28-year-old is currently on loan at Stoke City. However, the Ivory Coast international has only scored two goals in 11 apperances for the Potters this season.

Drogba recently signed for USL side Phoenix Rising FC which he also part-owns.
