“Dropping a 10/10 on his Man United audition” – Arsenal star reignites rumours after shaking hands with Red Devils bench
Arsenal star playmaker Mesut Ozil has been closely linked with a move to Premier League rivals Manchester United in recent months.
29-year-old entered last final six months of his contract with the Gunners and could end up leaving the club for free next summer unless a new deal is agreed.
Ozil has a strong relationship with Man United boss Jose Mourinho. The Germany international won the La Liga title during his spell at Real Madrid under the Portuguese tactician. Ozil also expressed his admiration for Mourinho in his recent autobiography.
Arsenal suffered a 3-1 defeat at the hands of Manchester United on Saturday. Ozil played the full 90 minutes but failed or provide an assist or get himself on the scoresheet.
Ozil raised eyebrows after he acknowledged the United bench following final whistle on Saturday evening, adding fuel to the rumours.
29-year-old embraced his former coaches Rui Faria and Silvino Louro from this Real Madrid days.
The moment has however excited Manchester United fans who have taken it as a sign.
