Emre Can believes he has developed under Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp

Liverpool star Emre Can has revealed that the appointment of Jurgen Klopp as head coach has benefitted him.

Speaking to the Frankfurter Rundschau Can said: “I have made a step forward. I’m playing in the position where I feel at home in central midfield.”

Can was deployed predominantly as a full-back and defender under the management of former boss Brendan Rodgers.

The 22-year-old always maintained that his best position is central midfield and he got his break under Klopp who has played Can in central midfield.

Can has grown in confidence and been given a key role in Klopp’s Liverpool side. The German manager is expected to make sweeping changes over these summer but the young midfielder is likely to keep his place.

The Germany international of Turkish origin has two goals and two assist in in 43 appearances in all competitions for Liverpool this season.

The Reds midfielder has been called up to the Germany national team and is expected to feature against England today at the Berlin Olympic stadium.
