Liverpool midfielder-come-defender Emre Can was praised on the official club website for his performance in the 2-1 win over QPR.

Can was described as being ‘dominant’ against QPR and a video of his performance was also shared on the page.

The Reds took a lead during the first half when Rickie Lambert setup Philippe Coutinho with the opening goal.

Leroy Fer equalised for QPR on 73 minutes but Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard rescued the day with the winning goal.

Can started at right-back alongside Martin Skrtel and Dejan Lovren.

The 21-year-old made seven tackles, nine ball recoveries and 11 defensive duel winners while recording 50 accurate passes according to Opta stats.

Liverpool closed the gap with fourth placed Manchester United to just four points following the win.

The Reds take on Premier League champions Chelsea next at Stamford Bridge.
