Emre Can

Emre Can was one of the best players for Liverpool against Manchester United in the Europa League Last 16 first-leg tie according to John Aldridge.

“The team ethic shone through against United with everyone playing for each other but I thought Can was one of our best individuals on the night,” Aldridge told the Daily Post.

Liverpool beat United 2-0 at Anfield in the first European competition clash between the two sides with Can putting on an impressive performance in midfield.

Can received a rating of 7.6 from WhoScored for his performance on the night. The Germany international made four successful tackles and one interception. Can also contributed on the attacking front with two successful dribbles and one key pass.

The former Bayern Munich man also maintained a passing accuracy of 85% after making 68 passes.

The Reds take on United in the return leg at Old Trafford on Thursday and Can is expected to start. The Germany international of Turkish origin reached the Europa League Round of 32 last season but failed to make it past Besiktas.
