Euro giants make offer for Liverpool ace headed for summer exit, £4.2m a-season demanded

Besiktas have made Liverpool midfielder Lucas Leiva an offer according to reports in Turkey.

Fanatik report that Besiktas have entered talks with Lucas’ agent and that he has been made a transfer priority.

Per the source, the Black Eagles are keen on adding experience at the right price to their midfield ahead of next seasons Champions League campaign.

The Super Lig champions were left stretched in midfield this season with 34-year-old Atiba Hutchinson often featuring as the sole defensively minded midfielder available in the squad.

Lucas has made 26 Champions League and 31 Europa League appearances for the Reds.

The Black Eagles would be able to sign Lucas as a free agent as the Reds have yet to offer him an extension.

Lucas will be out of contract this summer and free to leave Anfield.

The Brazilian has attracted widespread interest from Turkey and Brazil but his wage demands have put clubs off.

Lucas is demanding a salary of £4.2 million a-season according to the Express.

The Eagles are hoping they can strike a deal over Lucas’ wages and they will be able to offer guaranteed Champions League football.

The 30-year-old spent 10 seasons at Liverpool and is currently the longest serving member of the squad.

Besiktas won the league title for the second consecutive season last weekend.
