Everton Miss Out on Barcelona Star As Turkish Minnows Complete Transfer
Basaksehir have completed the shock transfer of Barcelona attacking midfielder Arda Turan on a deal that will see out the rest of his contract on loan in Istanbul.
The Turkish minnows released a statement confirming the move on their official website.
The Super Lig leaders had been locked in talks with Barcelona over the past week before eventually reaching a deal.
A Barca club statement read: “FC Barcelona and Istanbul Basaksehir FK agree on a loan deal for the Turkish player for the remainder of the season and two more.
“The Turkish International leaves the Club after two and a half seasons in which he has won everything there is to win domestically with the Blaugranes.”

The 30-year-old has been linked with Everton in recent weeks and has admitted in the past that he would be keen on a Premier League move.
The Turkey international made just 55 appearances for Barça in two-and-a-half years, scoring 15 goals.
Turan lifted the La Liga, Cope del Rey and Supercopa de Espana during his time at Barcelona.
Basaksehir were formed 20 years ago but have enjoyed a meteoric rise under the management of Abullah Avci.
The Istanbul based side are currently first in the Super Lig.
