Ex Manchester United star defender Patrice Evra rejected summer move to Galatasaray

Former Manchester United left-back Patrice Evra was offered a move to Galatasaray during the summer transfer window.

The 36-year-old spent eight years at the Red Devils following a transfer from Monaco back in 2006. Evra won five Premier leagues, three league cups, a World Club Cup and the UEFA Champions League during his spell at United.

According to the French outlet L’Equipe, Galatasaray tabled an offer for Evra during the summer transfer window.

However, Evra turned down the opportunity to join the Istanbul giants and opted to pen a deal with Ligue 1 side Marseille.

Galatasaray subsequently tried and failed to sign Kwadwo Asamoah from Juventus. The Lions ended up transferring Romania international Lasmin Latovlevici on a one-year contract from Karabukspor instead.

The Istanbul giants take on Bursaspor this weekend in the Turkish Super League. Man United meanwhile host Burton in the League Cup tonight.
