Former Chelsea & Barcelona star Samuel Eto'o suffers first loss as player-manager

The former Chelsea and Barcelona forward Samuel Eto’o has suffered his first defeat as player-manager of Antalyaspor.

The 34-year-old’s side were on the wrong end of a 3-0 scoreline when Antalyaspor took on Trabzonspor yesterday evening.

The Paraguay international Oscar Cardozo put Trabzonspor ahead after 15 minutes and goals from Mehmet Ekici and Stephan Mbia secured the win for the Black Sea Storm in the second half.

Eto’o has had a great start to his Turkish adventure. The former Barcelona man is the top goal scorer in the league with 13 goals and has even taken over as interim manager at the his club Antalyaspor.

The experienced striker has hinted that he has his eye set on taking over as player-manage on a permanent basis.

Eto’o has had an illustrious playing career winning two Champions League and three La Liga titles at Barcelona as well as the treble – including the Champions League, Serie A and Italian Cup – at Inter.
