Arsenal star Mesut Ozil has come under fire from sections of the media and fans of his own club after suffering a dip in form.
Ozil will have just 12 months remaining on his contract at the end of the season and has remained coy about his future at the club.
The 28-year-old was however, made to feel welcome by fans in Azerbaijan in Germany’s 2018 World Cup qualifier clash.
Ozil shared a picture from the game and thanked Azerbaijan for giving him a warm welcome.

The Germany international of Turkish origin was able to speak with the locals in their native language.
Ozil is fluent in Turkish which is mutually intelligible with Azerbaijani Turkish.
