Jordan Henderson will be replaced by Liverpool holding midfielder, says Jamie Carragher

Liverpool v Everton Liverpool news Emre Can Liverpool star man of the match

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp will re-install Emre Can to midfield in place of Jordan Henderson in the near future, according to Jamie Carragher.

The former Liverpool captain told the 5times podcast that he expects Can to regain his place in the starting lineup when he is fully fit.

“The holding role is earmarked for Emre Can, and I expect him to return to that [when he’s fit]. Jordan will probably play a slightly different position,” Carragher told the 5times podcast.

Can has found himself on the sidelines so far this season after joining pre-season training late following Euro 2016 and suffering an ankle injury in the League Cup against Burton Albion.

The 22-year-old came on in place of Henderson during Liverpool’s 5-1 victory over Hull City in the Premier League on Saturday.

Can is once again expected to start on the bench when Liverpool take on Swansea City this weekend. The Swans have lost their last three games and are without a win in five.

Klopp’s side currently sit in forth place in the Premier League table.
