Borussia Dortmund coach Jurgen Klopp revealed that he thought Juventus deserved to win the Champions League Last 16 first-leg clash.

Juventus won the game 2-1 at the Juventus stadium but Dortmund scored an important away goal to keep them in the tie.

“The result is fair. We did lots really, really well in the first half, but we conceded two soft goals. In the second half I had to change things early on. Juve had two big chances and I can’t remember any big openings we had,” Klopp was quoted as saying on the official UEFA website.

Klopp did however, underlined that 2-1 was not a bad scoreline to take back to Germany.

The Dortmund head coach will be confident about his sides chances considering Juventus have not progressed past this stage of the competition since the 2002-03.

“If we were to lose, then we had to hold it at 2-1 and we did that, and now we move on,” he added.

Turkish international Nuri Şahin started for Dortmund and worked hard in central midfielder.

German international of Turkish origin Ilkay Gündoğan also started for the Bundesliga giants.
