Jurgen Klopp has confirmed that Lazar Markovic is currently in Liverpool holding talks over his future at the club.

The on-loan Fenerbahce winger who is currently out injured was spotted at the Liverpool Melwood training grounds yesterday.

Klopp revealed that the club will be discussing the future of the Serbian international before he returns to Turkey.

“He’s injured so he is back for us,” Klopp was quoted as saying by the Express.

“But he is not our player so he will have to go back (to Fenerbahce). We will talk about things, we will speak about next season while he is here.”

Markovic was signed from Benfica for £17.5 million but failed to settle in but was played out of position for most his time spent under the stewardship of Brendan Rodgers.

The Serbian international has settled in well to life in Turkey and was an important first-team player before picking up an injury last month in the Turkish Cup quarter-final first-leg clash against Amed Sportif.

Fenerbahce are currently first in the Turkish Super League, in the Turkish Cup semi-final and will take on Braga in the Europa League Last 16.
