Emre Can started in midfield once again for Liverpool’s 1-0 win over Swansea City in the Premier League.
The 21-year-old has been a regular feature in the Red’s midfield since the arrival of Jurgen Klopp.
James Milner scored the winning goal from the penalty spot to close the gap with league leaders Leicester City to just six points.
The Germany international of Turkish origin worked tirelessly in midfield and put his defensive training to work making making four tackles, four interceptions and five clearances for his side. The 21-year-old completed the highest number of passes for his side (80) at an 83 percent accuracy.
Can is expected to be rested ahead of the Reds League Cup game on Wednesday against Southampton but is likely to return to the starting lineup in the Premier League next week.
Following the game we took to social media to see how Can’s performance went down with fans.
Emre Can was fantastic today. Really stepped up in Lucas' absence. #lfc

Thought that Emre Can was impressive today. Lucas done well in that role of late but Emre better in that holding role IMO
