The former Liverpool defender Jamie Carragher has heaped praise on Emre Can following his staring role in the Red’s 3-0 win over Villarreal.
Can received a rating of 8.3 for his performance from WhoScored. The Germany international made the most interceptions (4) and the most tackles (4) in the game. Can also maintained a passing accuracy of 86% and took one shot on target.
Carragher took to social media after the game to heap praise on the 22-year-old.
Fantastic performance by all but a special mention for Emre Can who was outstanding!

Can was a surprise inclusion in Jurgen Klopp’s starting line-up following an injury he sustained during the Red’s win over Dortmund. The Germany international was initially expected to miss the rest of Liverpool’s season.
The Red’s have secured their place in the final where they will take on last season’s champions Sevilla. Can has three assists and two goals in 47 appearances for Liverpool this season.
