Man United defender wants £5m pay-off to leave in January, Super Lig giants Fenerbahce prepare bid amid Newcastle interest

Manchester United full-back Luke Shaw wants a £5 million pay-off to leave January in January according to the Sun.

Per the source, Shaw has fallen out of favour under the management of Jose Mourinho and the Red Devils are prepared to cut their losses.

The England international currently earns £130,000-a-week, around £7 million-a-year on his current deal.

Shaw has had no shortage of interest but is aware he could struggle to earn a similar wage packet elsewhere.

Newcastle United are reported to have made an enquiry for the 22-year-old but have been put off by United’s £20 million asking price.

The Red Devils want to claim back the £30 million they paid Southampton for him but yet to find a suitor willing to match their valuation.

Shaw could be forced to leave the club on a six-month loan in January as a result.

An Old Trafford source was quoted as saying: “Shaw will not make it easy for the club to show him the door in January.

“The club have one figure in mind while he has another for severance pay. They are way off of each other.

“He wants to get his career moving again, but he is not going to do United a favour if they do try to force him to leave.”

According the Turkish outlet Fotomac, Fenerbahce are plotting a January bid to loan Shaw.

The Yellow Canaries have already had an offer for the young full-back rejected but will attempt to sign him on loan again over the winter transfer break.
