Fenerbahce released a statement to the Istanbul Stock Exchange earlier today confirming the transfer of Robin van Persie from Manchester United.
The Manchester United start is expected to join Fenerbahce for €6 million by the end of this week.
The 31-year-old is set to sign a three-year deal and become the highest paid player in the Turkish Super Lig.
Van Persie is expected to arrive in Turkey before the end of the week and unveiled in a signing ceremony similar in the Şükrü Saracoğlu stadium in-front of the fans.
The Netherlands international will become the second United player to join within the span of a week following the arrival of Portuguese international Nani.
The Dutch star played a key role in the Red Devils winning the 2012-13 Premier League title for a record 20th time.
Fenerbahçe fans are obviously head over heels with their new signing so we thought we would head over to Twitter to gage the reaction on social media.

Van Persie is a strange tale:
2012/13: Brilliant, wins Premier League title almost on his own …. 2015/16: Fenerbahce
